About Us

Welcome to the 2022 edition of Power5Camp, Ottawa’s premiere martial arts summer camp!

Operated by the Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts, Power5 Camp is a camp created by parents for kids 4 to 12 years old. A camp that prides itself on providing campers with high quality martial arts instruction and a variety of exciting field trips, all in a positive, safe and bully-free environment.

Our camp is offered by all OAMA locations, but currently held at our Kanata, Rockland and Carling academies. 2022 is our 17th year of offering educational, action packed weeks of summer fun!

Our summer camps are known for our high energy daily Martial Arts lessons and the sharing of valuable life lessons. We believe there is more to Martial Arts than just punches and kicks, which is why our summer camp instills leadership skills and develops character through face-to-face interaction. Our goal is to encourage your child to have a strong moral compass while immersed in our socially positive environment. Each week we have special events, fun filled field trips, water park fun and/or special guests.

It is our promise that each and every day of camp, we will take care of your children as if they were our own.

It has been this way at OAMA camps for nearly a decade, and you have our commitment to keep it that way for generations to come. Of course, we do it all out of love—love for our campers, love for our camp families and love for martial arts and all that it can do for kids.

What Will My Child Learn?

We believe that camp is fun, balanced with learning. Our Power5Camp is designed to develop

children into future leaders of the community and prepare them for the challenges that lay

ahead. The campers will be challenged in ways that will teach them to hold themselves to a high standard. Our campers are taught the tools to make friends, socially succeed, and live healthy balanced lives to enable them to become role models through leading by example. All children learn anti-bullying strategies daily and become empowered to stand up for themselves.

Through physically engaging activities, our campers will develop enhanced athletic abilities and stamina. Best of all, all that excess summer energy is captured and directed into a positive outlet.

Martial Arts & Summer Fun

Power5Camp Martial Arts lessons follow a progressive curriculum that includes practical lessons, ranging from anti-bullying strategies to internet safety to being safe around strangers. Our martial arts curriculum is designed to be easily applied to real life situations. Our focus is to instill confidence, self-esteem and leadership qualities in our students. Our classes are divided by age group to ensure that we properly address the physical and developmental needs of each child.

Camp & Covid Safety

Under the guidance of the Province of Ontario & Ontario Health Services, we have made modifications to our programs to help protect the health and safety of our campers and staff. Power5Camp works to minimize the risk of COVID-19 exposure through various procedures. It is important to us, to keep campers, employees, and parents/guardians, safe. Through daily screening, vigorous cleaning and sanitizing, and constant updating of our policies, we are reducing any risk of exposure.

Our Camp is committed to keeping our network informed and will issue updates to our policies as they develop.
