Our newly revamped After School offers drop-in options to all families in the west end of Ottawa. New for 2021/22, children aged 4-11 years can participate in 1 of our 2 drop-in programs, 1 focuses on play based programming (available 2:30pm-5pm), and another that includes Martial Arts training (4:30pm-5:15pm, extended care until 6pm included). Children are given time to relax after school, participate in organized crafts, games, fitness/sports & creative play, while visiting with and making new friends. They can use their time to complete homework, as well as take part in structured games, sports, and fun stimulating activities. Those interested in adding Martial Arts training, will take part in classes that include Muay Thai, Bjj, Fitness & Self-Defense. Play based programming promotes creativity, mental health & wellness, fitness & teamwork, all in a positive environment.

Our Martial Arts programs are designed to build confidence, and develop strong character. We teach respect and discipline within our academy, but also add an element of fun, encompassed in a positive environment. Our evening martial arts classes will follow a progressive curriculum that include practical lesson plans for anti-bullying strategies and the prevalent dangers of Internet chat rooms and strangers. The curriculum is established to be easily applied to real life situations. Our focus is to instill confidence, self-esteem and leadership qualities.

Having a social life provides the child with feelings of belonging and having friends for support. Children will be able to work in a cohesive team environment with the support and positive role modeling of both staff and peers. Feeling connected to one’s community promotes health because such ties promote mutual respect and thereby increase self-esteem. It is important that your child feels that they are a part of our community.

Offered only at the Kanata location, the Drop-In Programs are available for singular days, 10 day passes, & bi-weekly (school year commitment). Drop off from schools can be arranged with our team. Our bi-weekly option includes full day PD day camps at no extra cost. The children can attend our exciting action packed, themed PD day camps, with two martial arts lessons and fun activities throughout the day.
